Tell the Grammys, fuck'em 0 for 8 Shit!!!
So the world came to a standstill, 'Everything Is Love' is now out and about. An Album with the highest possible profile collab of 'The Queen' and Jay-Z, announced live in their London On the Run II Concert day. Essentiallly finishing a trilogy after Lemonade and 4:44, arguably the finest works of 2016 and 2017, now The Carters are back with another one in 2018.
Everything Is Love is a compact album with 9 tracks, essentially rap/hip-hop duets of Beyoncé and Jay-Z, talking about their deepest feelings of loses and triumphs, and let me tell you- its Triumph through and through. Now available on all major platforms including Tidal, iTunes and Spotify.
THE BAD- Still looking for'em.
THE GOOD- Theres a lot to talk here. Everything Is Love is a mature, well balanced and still new at its core. It goes without saying Beyoncé outshines her husband through out. But then she is she, and we are all more than happy about it. The first single- Apeshit was released on youTube with an accompanying video shot at the freaking Louvre, Paris. The single talks about their arduous journey as a married couple of professionals, their kids and of course their victories, in the best of Burberry, Givenchy and Chanel especially crafted for her majesty. Extravagant- is the word I'm looking for.
I'm a gorilla in the fuckin' coop, finna pull up in the zoo
I'm like Chief Keef meet Rafiki, who been Lion King to you
Pocket watch it like kangaroos, tell these clowns we ain't amused
Banana clips for that monkey business, 4-5 got change for you
Motor cade when we came through, Presidential with the planes too
One better get you with the residential, Undefeated with the cane too
I said no to the Superbowl, you need me, I don't need you
Every night we in the endzone, tell the NFL we in stadiums too
Last night was a fuckin' zoo, stagedivin' in a pool of people
Ran through Liverpool like a fuckin' Beatle
Smoke gorilla glue like it's fuckin'
Tell the Grammys Fuck,em 0 for 8 Shit !
Have you ever seen Crowd going Apeshit !!! -Jay-Z
Talking about Rap, we all know Beyoncé is a perfectionist. Her autotuned echoing voice fills the beats with so much power, and rhythm, u just cant help but dissolve in it. Some of the best artworks of Human History are displayed- Monalisa, Napolean, David etc, and Black Music. Louvre, which was built in 12th century as a fortress on the blood and sweat of Egyptian and Black slaves now has two black people standing on top of it, renting it, owning it. Its a Celebration of Art, and the power and influence that comes with it.
Some other tracks that I have so far deciphered would be Boss, Nice, 713 and Friends. Boss is my favourite track so far. A slow going, thick beats coupled with Beyoncé's sultry vocals, its the song of the summer for me. Unless Nicki upstages it with 'Queen'.
So I bought my momma a whip ,
My great-great-grandchildren already rich ,
That's a lot of brown children on your Forbes list ,
Probably looking around my compound on my fortress, boss
I be ridin' around with my seat reclining ,
Droppin' my daughter off at school every morning ,
We slammin' car doors, I be true balling on these bum whores ,
You ain't talking about nothing, I ain't got no time, boss
Chill, tell them pets they gotta relax (you tried it!)
Toes in the sand, momma gettin' fast !!! -Beyoncé
713 is another masterpiece on the album. Keeping the feet grounded to the soil, the Billion dollar couple did not forget to pay homage to her hometown Houston, Texas and all their dedicated fans. Beyoncé on steroids, high pitch, autotuned while Jay-Z cracks on the rap with wolves howling in the background. It sounds epic and will Blow your mind.
Cash, hit deposit, 24-carat faucets
Louis V and Goyard trunks all in the closet
Ain’t shit change, the streets is still watching
And my little baby Blue is like, “Who gone stop us, huh?” -Jay-Z
Ain’t no way to stop this love, ain’t no space if everything is love
Representing for my hustlers all across the world (still)
Still dippin’ in my low-lows, girl! (still)
I put it down for the 713 and we still got love for the streets (ow!) -Beyoncé
THE BEST- So while I am desperately waiting for Nicki Minaj's QUEEN scheduled for August 10th, this was a great big surprise from the music's own Royal Couple. I am already acquainted with Beyoncé body of work, while maintaining she is one of the most (if not 'the' most) talented artists to have ever walked on the face of Earth. Considering the level of artwork that was Lemonade, Beyoncé absolutely won me over with it. She sets the bar higher each time she sings for herself, and by extension everyone else. Everything Is Love is no exception, especially when you have 21 Grammy winning Hip-Hop legend at your side on each track.
With that said, Everything Is Love surpasses all their previous work so far, in flair, passion, enigma, power and luxury. As an album it is so cohesive, as if The Carters were inviting me into their house and entertaining me with whats on their mind. Love, power, pain, revenge, family, friends and their deceits all packed into one awesome package. I will score it 5 out of 5 stars. For its vibrance, lyrics and boldness. I may be biased here but Hey!! that's my opinion. Everyone who has ever liked Bey-Jay will undoubtedly love this album cuz its their finest so far.
Haters!!! Work hard and Prepare for UPSC!!! Its not your cup of tea...
Leaving you with Apeshit!!!
