Making her own rules as she goes, from nothing to once in a century Divadom- Onika Tanya Maraj a.k.a. Nicki Minaj was bound to rise through the ranks, as real talent cant be put down for long. Nicki Minaj has surpassed by a huge margin any women who ever came to Rap. She has been the reigning queen of rap since almost Decade. Here are some records that Nicki has set through her career.

- Nicki has to her name the highest number of billboard hot 100 singles in the history, more than MJ, Bey or anyone else.

- Throughout her career, Minaj has received numerous accolades, including six American Music Awards, 11 BET Awards, four MTV Video Music Awards, four Billboard Music Awards, a Billboard Women in Music Rising Star Award, and 10 Grammy Award nominations. .

 - Nicki has highest number of videos with 100 million views on Youtube. She is tied up with Rihanna for that record.  

- Apart from music, Fashion Industry is where Nicki has left a massive impact.

- As a business woman, she is the creator of one of the most successful celebrity cosmetic line with MAC. She has a super successful Fashion line with Diesel.

- Nicki Minaj has some of the most epic feuds to her name in the music industry. Remy Ma, Miley Cyrus and now Cardi B and each time she was the victim yet she won. She is a basically a tigress in a human form.

She is one of those musicians who have had a massive impact on me. She is a versatile lyrical genius who floors you with her epic raps but at times can make you sob with her softer melodies. She came from nothing. A poor family from Trinidad and Tobago, with an Indian grand father, had her daughter travel to America in search of a job- and she worked as a waitress for years, fired from 15 different jobs for her incandescent attitude which finally started flourishing as a backup singer for Kanye West who saw immense talent in her and promoted her career to this end, where she is an International phenomenon now.

Nicki has 4 albums till date and all 4 are massively successful. Her work has a lot of critical acclaim as well, with 10 Grammy Nominations so far but she hasn't won yet. Her latest album 'Queen' is one of my favourite albums of all time.

Theres a lot of negative press as well when it comes to Nicki. Firstly cuz of her varying cosmetic surgeries. Secondly a lot of people think she is a bully. I personally have no qualms against plastic surgeries cuz one should do whatever makes them happy and more confident in life. Nicki started catching eyes of lots of people cuz of her looks, so quite possibly if she hadn't had those surgeries done she wouldn't have been such a massive star in the first place, same thing went for Lady Gaga and her weird fashion days. That said Nicki is 24 carat gold when it comes to talent, but being in news and catching eyes does help every artist. Secondly her persona even though does appear a little bullish, but that's who she is and possibly that's where her fire comes from. And there are much bigger bullies than her in the industry.

Theres a lot to be said about this legend. And guess what she is just getting started. Theres a lot more to be seen and I couldn't be more eager. I have fallen in love with all aspects of this woman and I couldn't love and respect her more. I wish she holds her concerts in India cuz we are huge fans here, I would definetly want to see her live. In fact it would be a dream come true.

Kabir Singh- A Doctor's Review

So I found time to watch the latest bollywood release- Kabir Singh with Shahid Kapoor and a few beautiful women I’m not bothered to learn the names of. After a long time, medical profession and live of doctors was the baseline for a very mainstream movie, the last one was Munna Bhai MBBS, and it was a wonderfully entertaining with great social message. So I had a lot of expectations. It was a remake of the south Indian movie Arjun Reddy and I’m not familiar with it at all. And lets just say, in spite of a watchable story line, it let me down in so many parameters, so many dimensions, it won’t be easy writing this. So first lets start with the good. Almost everyone of the cast member are great actors and it showed (other than the various beautiful romantic entanglements of Dr Kabir Singh, MS Orthopedics, thats why I’m not bothered to learn their names). Goodbye College!!!

So exactly 4 and a half years back I started the journey of my Graduation, 2000 kms away from home. With my admission to a Medical School, I was never more excited in my life. Those were the innocent days when I still believed in the power of men and the strength of oneself to conquer the world. I still do but with better understanding of the phrase "One's own Enemy." The abundantly fabled College life was not totally what I expected it to be. A myriad of failures, wins, heartbreaks and sleepless nights was what it was. When I started I remember being anxious about the fact that the course was almost 6 years long, but someone told me that I wont even realize how fast this time would pass.
