Most Memorable Villans Ever- My perspective

More than the heroes its the villains that entice me, in general and in entertainment. Over the years the spectrum of con characters was widened incredibly. Its not just black and white anymore. Every person has a balance of goodness and darkness in them, which is now thankfully reflected more and more in entertainment world. I like my antagonists whimsical, bitchy and glamourous. I have written a lot about actors and icons so I thought why not bring spotlight to some brilliant villains. Here's my list. Let me know your views...

6. Captain Chantel DuBois (Madagascar 3)
Wikipedia says " Captain Chantel DuBois (voiced by Frances McDormand) is a Monegasque animal control officer and the main antagonist of the third Madagascar movie. She is the best animal control officer in Monte Carlo with a perfect success record. She is a big-game hunter and has extraordinary tracking skills, as well as superhuman strength and a habit of mounting the heads of every animal she has caught on her wall. She is incredibly resistant to injury. Throughout the third film, she pursues the Four animals in hopes of having their heads as trophies, especially Alex's the Lion." Now She is incredibly good at her job but with superhuman strength and her reluctance to go to great illegal lengths for animal heads, coupled with fabulosity that is French accent and make up, she makes one heck of a villan. In fact I would consider her the finest animated antagonist ever. Here's an incredible scene from the movie. Watch it yourself if you disagree.

5. Wilhelmina Slater (Ugly Betty)
Venessa Williams played an incredibly convincing role of Ex-Supermodel/Fashion Editor who is so career driven that everything that comes in her way gets destroyed. A self made woman of Fashion, proud and powerful, so shrewd- will have your heads spinning before you will learn to pronounce her name. Ms Slater is a character written and executed so well, you will have a hard time admiring her and hating her simultaneously. Though one might think she is an extension of Miranda Priestly from TDWP but Venessa Williams does an astonishing job making it her own. Everything about her, attitude to attires, dialogues to dominance is Iconic. She is an enemy you would never wish to have, but is one worth having. Surrounded by chauvinists and back stabbers, she only trusts herself. The Creative Director and on-and-off Editor in Chief of Mode Magazine wants to own the Meade Empire and nothing short of a nuclear attack on New York City would stop her. Watch her fabulosity here.

4. Joker (The Dark Knight)
Well to be honest I am not big on Super-Hero fiction. Theres only one Batman Movie I have watched and Heath Ledger playing The Joker absolutely blew me away. And just now when I googled to look for some of his other works I realised he is dead. WTH!!! :( Rest In Peace. Anyways, he did a brilliant job. The super cool demeanour, the continuous licking of lips like a snake, his cruel laughter and his master plans to get Batman. He was a story book definition of modern 21st century psychotic super-Villan. No wonder he was nominated for Oscar, Golden Globe, BAFTA and more for this amazing work. And did I mention the movie grossed over a Billion Dollars. I mean Meryl Streep who!!! :p I wish he had lived longer to showcase more of his brilliant works. He died due to accidental over-dose of Benzodiazepines at the age of 29. R.I.P.

3. Queen Cersei Lannister (Game Of Thrones)
My absolute favourite on the list is the present Queen of the Seven Kingdoms, Cersei Lannister, played by Lena Haedey. The most vicious antagonist on GOT, people see her as incestuous whore, I see a mother who can go to great lengths to safe guard her children and their interests. Unfortunately she failed at that, but grabbed the second most important thing in her life- The Throne. If Daenerys thinks she had a hard time reaching where she is, she is yet to meet the Queen at the Capitol. Struggling through hardest of times from walk of shame to the murder and suicide of her children, whatever she has set her eyes on, is either hers or destroyed. A brilliant avenger, master mind, impeccable taste, brother-lover, husband-hater, Cersei is one of those women you never want to mess with. And hats off to Lena Haedey who breathes life into the character. I'm pretty sure she is the most hated woman in the 21st century.

2. Lord Voldemort (Harry Potter Franchise)
The Wizard of the millennium, the Donald Trump of the Harry Potter world, the person of utmost cruelty and superiority complex, Lord Voldemort is one fine antagonist. Played by different actors in different movies, its ultimately brought to life and power by Ralph Fiennes, who does a remarkable job of portraying the last descendant of Slytherin, working on his principal of keeping wizardry in the pure blood community, and eliminating muggles, very much like Donald Trump is doing to Blacks, Gays, Mexicans and Indians. Eaten up by his own ego, arrogance and over-confidence, he clearly under-estimated Harry Potter and Professor Dumbledore leading to his defeat at the hands of Potter. But throughout he plays an enigmatic role of a brilliant sophisticated evil wizard who would stop nothing short of Global Dominance. Clearly one of the most popular antagonists of the 21st century, Ralphs's Dark Lord will be remembered for the years to come.

Now all the above Antagonists had something in common. They had somethings brilliant and likable about them. A sight of them would excite you, give you goosebumps and leave you wanting more. But this next antagonist is depressing, bitchy and sucks life and joy from everything it beholds. The truest of its kind, Ladies and Gentlemen, I give to you- DOLORES JANE UMBRIDGE

#1. Dolores Jane Umbridge (Harry Potter Franchise)
She was featured in only one of the movies (5th) but left an everlasting impression on my mind. Every time I look at the above pic, I want to puncture her eyeballs with a fork. This goes on to say what an amazing portrayal of the witch has Imelda Staunton done. The pink poisonous costume, the obsession with cats, the high pitch voice and the gruesome thin laughter all adds up to create this obnoxious, biased, kid hating icon. Theres nothing to say about her, you all know her, you all have seen her and a I'm pretty sure you will agree that she is the worst kind of villan. And to be honest such professors exist, at least in our college they do!!! I could name a few but its not safe... or morally correct.

Here ends my list, I hope u like and agree with it, in any case do let me know. Thank You.
