Egotistic Cafe Coffee Day manager messed with the WRONG person...

On a wonderful warm sunny afternoon, We went to a popular café for coffee and snacks. Located in one of the posh areas of the city, foreigners and Ferrari owners(metaphorically) were regular customers over there. Me being neither was apparently a pain in the bum the manager could not get over. Stereotyping our own people as inferior over outsiders is still a common site in my country. Well just so you know, it was not a one time thing with that café manager.

Few weeks back when we guys went for snacks, my food was not served for quite some time. So I went up to the counter and enquired for the same and was met with a rude and loud answer - Sir you will get your food when it is ready. It did not feel good but I didn't say anything. I succumbed to my tolerance as usual.

3 guys- including me, returned to the café once again. We ordered the food and beverages as usual and I advised my friend- who was paying for us all against making any payments in change. Smaller denominations are hard to get by, so I would rather have a big Multi-million dollar firm make adjustments for a customer.

Now at this time you have to know that in spite of being very liberal I still believe in the our old saying in business- Customer is the king. But somehow this private conversation with my friend deeply offended the manager and he started howling at me like a werewolf on a full moon night. He thought it was very insensitive of me to say that the café should manage changes for the customer. I know some of you might agree with his intentions but what I wont ever resist is being shout at by a complete stranger for a petty reason in the public. He got on my nerves and I unleashed my wrath on him in no time. Boy oh! boy. It was a scene that would go viral on You Tube.

I started throwing big words at 100 dBs at his face like pots and pans. I stated that its not the way a café manager is supposed to treat his customer. And then I gave him a bit of history lesson of how he did exactly the same thing the last time I was there. It was followed by a lecture on moral and ethics. He tried to fight back but drowned like led bullet. With my arguments tearing him like a saw, I reminded myself once again why am I a national level Debate Champion. Now the point to note was that all my arguments were justified as a customer but the tone, the loudness was gruesome. So I essentially made the manager taste his own dough and cause enough embarrassment and bad publicity for him that all eyes and ears present, Indian or outsider, will know something is wrong with that a**hole. Well!!! There were hardly few people in the store at the time to be honest.

My friend standing by my side supported me in the duel. But apparently he was not happy about it. When we got back to our table he asked me why do I have to cause a scene everywhere I go. I shrugged my shoulder and laughed it off with a few words. What he doesn't knows is that I wanted to tear him up a new one too at that moment.

Anyways, I promised myself never to return to any branch of that café. A store that cant disagree with me while still being polite wont get my patronage ever. That being said I haven't been writing on my blog for some time due to my university exams. Its over now and I will keep bringing more interesting or rather weird stories from my life over time...

ciao...
