A Star is Born...!!

A lot of pop or otherwise, artists have tried hands-on with acting but very few could find the connection genuine and strong enough to stick to it. (Except for JLo! This one woman does it all) Over the years Madonna failed, Shakira's same, Rihanna, Nicky Minaj doesn't wants to do movies anymore, Beyoncé hasn't done any move in like a decade ('Cadillac records' a biopic on the life of legendary black singer Aretha Franklin was her last, R.I.P. Aretha) in spite of the fact that she is brilliiant. But this autumn, Bradley Cooper's directoral debut and a remake of a legacy, starring the one and only Lady Gaga seems to be poised to change that.

We all know theres nothing this woman cant do. She jumps off the height 15 storey buildings for NFL while 100s of drones dance behind. She stood alone in front of Trumps building, at midnight, with a board that says 'Love Trumps Hate' when he announced the deportation programs for millions of latinos that have been living, flourishing and had helped build America for Decades. And when it comes to Music, this mystery of a woman has single handedly redefined Pop Music in the 21st Century. She made the likes of Britney and Christina Aguilera a last generation thing. She has marched and cried and fought for the International LGBTQ community. And now with her Movie debut, she seems to have hit it out of the park. Is there nothing this woman cant do??

A star is born is set to reach theatres next month but a preview held at the Venice Film Festival had its audience on feet for a standing ovation for 8 minutes. The initial reviews are rave and I a'int talking just the movie. 'Senationally good' is one of the headlines describing her. One can see that even in the trailer. It also goes on to show the charisma of Bradley Cooper who directed and chose to star Lady Gaga on screen, to pay homage to its last version which had legacy Artist Barbra Streisand in those very shoes. Im sure Ms. Streisand will be very proud.

TBH Lady Gaga is not new to acting. She did American Horror Story Season 6 and as it were, won a Golden Globe for her role.  If that doesn't speak to you of the kind of Power house she is, nothing else will. And there I was, thinking Mother Monster's career might have plateaued but she defied us all, and re-evolved to bring us a new side to her that we hadn't seen before. A real life Phoenix, there couldn't be a more inspiring Persona, more talented or more kind hearted then her. Lady Gaga, you will always be the Queen of my heart and I hope to see many more movies of yours and more sides of you in the years to come. I have full faith in her that she will always manage to evolve into something new. I love you!!!

It seems the Las Vegas Residency program 'Enigma' was a mere sabbatical for her to work on this epic project, while she hones her on stage concert skills through that program even further, Im sure another master piece album is also in the works. She has been working tirelessly ever since she debuted. And it shows in her work, all her work, that she doesn't stop till its perfect. I will leave you with the trailer.

Kabir Singh- A Doctor's Review

So I found time to watch the latest bollywood release- Kabir Singh with Shahid Kapoor and a few beautiful women I’m not bothered to learn the names of. After a long time, medical profession and live of doctors was the baseline for a very mainstream movie, the last one was Munna Bhai MBBS, and it was a wonderfully entertaining with great social message. So I had a lot of expectations. It was a remake of the south Indian movie Arjun Reddy and I’m not familiar with it at all. And lets just say, in spite of a watchable story line, it let me down in so many parameters, so many dimensions, it won’t be easy writing this. So first lets start with the good. Almost everyone of the cast member are great actors and it showed (other than the various beautiful romantic entanglements of Dr Kabir Singh, MS Orthopedics, thats why I’m not bothered to learn their names). Goodbye College!!!

So exactly 4 and a half years back I started the journey of my Graduation, 2000 kms away from home. With my admission to a Medical School, I was never more excited in my life. Those were the innocent days when I still believed in the power of men and the strength of oneself to conquer the world. I still do but with better understanding of the phrase "One's own Enemy." The abundantly fabled College life was not totally what I expected it to be. A myriad of failures, wins, heartbreaks and sleepless nights was what it was. When I started I remember being anxious about the fact that the course was almost 6 years long, but someone told me that I wont even realize how fast this time would pass.
