There is no denial that the human society is a male dominated one. It has been so for the last thousands of years. From the West to the East, men have dominated all spheres of power ranging from Politics to Business and Home. Women have been denied, suppressed and kept away from opportunities intentionally for far too long. Its been a long time now and things are up for a change!

India is a conservative country and growing up here, I saw innumerable stances where woman were treated differently. The term "conservative" here is rather synonymous with patriarchy, most women would just be child bearing housewives and have no say in decisions or marriage or any rights on inheritance. In my own family in spite of being equally loved, I being a male child received better resources, more opportunities then my sisters. We are ending 2016 very soon and women today play so many roles that men can only dream. They are proving how very indispensable to society they are, and not just in biological way. And they are not shy of asking for their rights, for they deserve a lot more. Here are a few difficult and admirable roles that women play often unappreciated...

I believe women can do everything a man can do and beyond, while men cant. A single mother is both the mother and father to the child. She manages her home as well as office. Women leaders are making legacy so big, they will be remembered for centuries to come. Conquering obstacles like religion, patriarchy, poverty, suppression, bias, nepotism etcetera, they are emerging in triumphant colours. But what changed suddenly???

Education made all the difference. Girls learned they are equally entitled to all the Resources and Capital and they went for it. They went to school, learned and exceled at all the trades one by one. They realised the exciting powerful world where they call shots in their life instead of their husbands/brothers/fathers. And through hard work and dedication they are achieving it and making this world a better place to live in for everyone.

Few women who really inspire me-

OPRAH WINFREY- Fighting with extreme poverty, rapes, pregnancies at teenage, She is the most powerful woman on the planet today. She created a business empire worth billions of dollars and is the icon of girl power in 21st century.

SUSHMA SWARAJ- She has been a Chief Minister, a Leader of opposition, Member of Parliament for Decades and right now she holds the position of Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Government of India. She is a symbol that ignorance and bias against women can be conquered and women can achieve whatever they want.

MERYL STREEP- Year after Year she has set standards of acting so high, She can be called the Goddess of acting. She has won a massive 157 awards for acting, out of an earth shattering 409 nominations including 3 Oscars and 8 Golden Globes. Her humongous talents and feats has made her one of the biggest gems of the Film making industry of USA.

SHAKIRA- A poor girl from a poorer country rose so high, the whole world bowed before her. Her Latina voice, sultry moves and killer looks won so many hearts that she is considered one of the most successful latino artist ever. Considering she can speak some 5 or 6 languages, has won multiple Grammys, a fan base spread all over the planet, its hard to believe the hardships she had to face as a minority woman from a small country in her career.

PRIYANKA CHOPRA- Taking India to the world, Priyanka Chopra is a former Beauty Queen, an extremely versatile Actor and Dancer, and quite good Singer. Involved in amazing projects like Quantico, Baywatch, Project Runway while making Bollywood Super Hits one after another is unparalleled achievement by any Bollywood star, let alone a girl from the poor state of Jharkhand.

As a man it doesn't hurts my ego at all to call myself a huge fan of these amazing women, who are changing their business scenes and breaking stereotypes. If I am ever lucky enough to have a daughter, I will like her to achieve every thing in her potential. I preach equality of both sexes, not superiority of one over another. Feminists are needed in this world after thousands of years of suppression. A world where women are equal to men will be more stable, prosperous and crime free. We sure have a long way to go in that direction, but we will be fighting for women, with women, nothing is impossible when it comes to Women.
