A Desire long Over-due

Image
Ever since I got out of my tiny pond called Nokia, I realised there's a whole vast ocean called Apple. Since then, on and off I have been dreaming about the amazing over-priced products they make. And finally today I have become an 'isheep'. I bought my first idevice- the IPhone 7 plus and its magnificent. Sure I had to do everything short of selling kidneys but I finally got there and as of now it seems like a place worth being. Its gorgeous, its fast, its powerful, buttery smooth, intelligent, its everything and beyond in a smartphone. Out of a lot of choices I chose the IPhone over Android primarily for a change of taste. Sure Android phones offer you all those stuff (for the first six months, LOL!!) but then again what's living if it aint adventurous. Here are some pics of my unit. Pls don't mind the bad quality pics, it was taken from a very old Samsung phone. So initially I was fixated on the Galaxy A9 Pro, but my choice kept changing with each passing we

Most Memorable Villans Ever- My perspective

Image
More than the heroes its the villains that entice me, in general and in entertainment. Over the years the spectrum of con characters was widened incredibly. Its not just black and white anymore. Every person has a balance of goodness and darkness in them, which is now thankfully reflected more and more in entertainment world. I like my antagonists whimsical, bitchy and glamourous. I have written a lot about actors and icons so I thought why not bring spotlight to some brilliant villains. Here's my list. Let me know your views... 6. Captain Chantel DuBois (Madagascar 3) Wikipedia says " Captain Chantel DuBois (voiced by Frances McDormand) is a Monegasque animal control officer and the main antagonist of the third Madagascar movie. She is the best animal control officer in Monte Carlo with a perfect success record. She is a big-game hunter and has extraordinary tracking skills, as well as superhuman strength and a habit of mounting the heads of every animal she has caught

Good Bye my 2 Hysterical Broke Girls

Image
So I started watching this amazing sitcom called '2 Broke Girls' for the lack of any other thing to watch and I very soon fell in love with the characters. The title refers to 2 poor women called Max Black and Caroline Channing, the lead persona brought to life by Kat Dennings and Beth Behrs. While Max Black is a hardy girl with no hope, expectation or optimism about her future or life in general, due to her traumatic childhood, no father and an alcoholic mother who did not care, Caroline Channing on the other hand is a rich, spoilt, brought up like a princess, daughter of a disgraced billionaire called Martin Channing who lost his Billions after the government found out about his Ponzy scheme of loot and put him behind bars forever. Hence Caroline is left with nothing, no money, no friends, no home and is forced to streets and work as a waitress at a 3rd class diner at minimum wage, where she meets Max Black. The story depicts a comical journey of two ghastly different

The Witches (1990)

Image
As a little kid many years ago, I was scrolling through various channels on the TV in search of something interesting when I came across this amazing movie about witches that gave me nightmares later on. I could only watch half the movie and never knew the beginning or the end of the movie and I thought I must watch the whole movie some day. Since then it was out of sight, out of mind. This was at least 10 or 12 years old and guess what? This afternoon I was browsing through web and found an article about the best transformations of actors through make up in Hollywood and there it was, Anjelica Houston as the Grand Empress witch, which brought back that day and the horrid scene I saw. I googled and found out the movie is called 'The Witches' by Warner Brothers, released in 1990 and based upon Roald Dahl's novel of the same name. Heres a still of Anjelica Houston from the movie as the Grand Empress, and you can see why I had the nightmares... So there was no stopping

Congratulations Melanie!!!

Image
Melanie Martinez is one of those up and coming singers who are immensely talented and have a career brighter than sun ahead of them. She was discovered through the American singing contest 'The Voice' and was groomed by Adam Levine. Even though she couldn't win the contest she is doing way better then many of the winners of the show. As I just read that her first Album 'Cry Baby' released in 2015 got certified Platinum in the US last month which is a huge deal for any debutant singer, even though it happened two years later. A very hearty congratulations to you Melanie. This was a very well deserved recognition for the album and we expect even greater works of art from you in the near future. For those of you who don't know about her first album, its called 'Cry Baby', a well though metaphor as she likens the pain and suffering of adults to that of babies, and also dresses like one and behaves like one. Seriously!! All of her songs are so mat

Painful Obsessions: A Thought

Image
We have all been there. We have all felt that. At School, College or a trip to the shopping mall. Its painful to be obsessed with something or someone. And its kind of a thing you cant really talk to someone about, especially when you are a grown-up college guy. People discard it altogether cuz its silly and petty to them but its you who knows how much you crave it. I have been through a fare share of obsessions since I was a teen. From pop sensation like Shakira to Apple devices in the recent days, and a few people sprinkled here and there. Obsession is probably like a psychological addiction, you don't really need it to survive but your brain thinks the other way around. People to I-devices, you can live on your own but once they start showing up in your dreams you know you gotta get them. By hook or by crook. While addiction to objects can be harmless mostly as long as you are not selling your kidney for them, but obsession with people is devastating. Some may call it one

The pleasure of writting

Image
The art of creative writing is at a drastic decline ever since E-mails and texting became common. While penmanship is dead all over the world, some people have taken up the newer approach to it like blogging. Writing is undoubtedly one of the most amazing art forms if not the most relevant art form any more. And the joy of it is huge. I didn't create this blog to earn money or have an alternate profession. It was a hobby, I have always wanted to write. I have always had the skill cuz a lot of people seemed to appreciate what I write, in their own ways. In class 7th I was accused by a bully that the Hindi literature answers in my notebook were copied from a guidebook and I in no way could have written it myself, just cuz she was too jealous of it getting teacher's attention. The teacher got convinced and it made me really really mad. The immediate inspiration came from watching 'Ugly Betty'. Just like me she had a lot of ideas, thoughts and stories to write, a

The Goddess of Hollywood: Part II

Image
Born to very humble parents in New Jersey in 1949, like all other great people she didn't had her carrier served to her on a silver platter. Decades of struggles, learning and theaters has got her here. Do you know she was rejected before she could even audition for the movie King Kong, cuz the producer thought she was too 'ugly'. Its an amazing story, look it up here . It happened in front of her and she gave a jaw dropping reply to that producer right then and there. Here I will tell one of her most embarrassing stories ever. On her first Golden Globe nomination for 'Kramer vs Kramer', she had no idea how the award function roles. It was a lunch time award show and she thought would get over in an hour or so. Oh did I mention she wore her wedding gown to the awards cuz she had no money to buy a dress. Oh So adorable!!! She had just given birth to her first child and was breast feeding. Unfortunately the function went on for hours and hours and her mammary gla

Wonder Woman 2017: A thought

Image
Today I went out with friends after a very long time to watch a movie: Wonder Woman, even though I had my eyes set on Baywatch, but they convinced me. All DC comics super heroes I know are Batman, Superman and Green Lantern. My only memory of Wonder Woman was when Penny was forced to wear the costume by her friends for New Years Eve costume party in The Big Bang Theory. It was quite refreshing to see a female Superhero take lead in a big budget movie in quite some time. About the movie, let me begin by saying that Gal Gadot is looking phenomenally beautiful and casting her as the lead was an incredible choice. Spoilers Alert!!! The movie is mostly a flash back into the memories of the Wonder Woman, here and after WW, as she looks into an old picture. A princess Diana in a hidden island gets trained by her army, all women, very feministic, in order to fight Aeres, the god of war and son of Zeus and bring peace to mankind, who one day saves a good looking British spy (Chris Pine

My First Blogger Friend

Image
When I started blogging, I had no idea what I was doing. I had something different in my mind and none of the blogs I read resembled it. They looked more like casual websites and online market places then blogs. But I went on and did what I liked. A blog to write about my thoughts, my stories, my inspirations and my fictions. And I'm very lucky to have inspired a fellow friend at college to start her own blog. Although she clearly objects when I say I inspired her, but we all know the truth. LOL!! Anyways She takes immense interest in Calligraphy i.e. visual art of writing and she is really amazing at it. She is also slightly cray-cray but that's a different point. Here is something she made for me. Thank you so much girl for making this for me. You are seriously talented. Her blog is called The Enchanted Ink Drop. How well thought is that and I would like all my friends to visit her blog and see for yourself how gifted she is. You probably know her already, if we stu

The Goddess of Hollywood: Meryl Streep

Image
She is to Hollywood what Whitney Houston is to music, what Rolls Royce is to cars and what Oprah Winfrey is to working women. The quality of her work is beyond what meets the eye of an average movie person. Every single movie of hers, she is a completely different person with a different accent and a brand new story and she is so convincing that you will laugh with her, cry with her and forget your own reality while hers becomes yours. To say she is a remarkable actress would be understatement of the century. Through her career she has been nominated for 389 awards including 20 Academy Awards and 31 Golden Globes and she has won 156 of them. She is often cited as the greatest actor of our generation on the whole planet. However unfortunately when most of us hear Meryl Streep, we think The Devil Wears Prada or Mamma Mia!!! And that is not even the tip of the iceberg. Her body of work is so diverse, so strong and versatile, she can put all these new multi million charging 'ac

Our Society and Our Doctors: Part II

Image
The patients these days are no sheep either. Think about it. As the Doctors became more commercial, the patients became smarter, in there own ways. A lot of patients come to hospital with their own Diagnosis and ask prescription for that. Thanks Internet!!! They happen to think a five minutes research on WebMD outshines the last 15 years of experience the Doctor has. Sadly the diagnosis they generally come up with are too far fetched and serious. And luckily theres no discount for patients who diagnose themselves, the fees remains the same. :D So that's a win for us at the end. Silver linings. I used to be one of those people and when my friends pointed that out, I decided to always take a Doctors opinion when I'm ill instead of WebMD treatments, till I become one myself. Further ever since Indian patients learned that they can sue Doctors for any unsatisfactory treatment or accidents, they have started using it for their benefits. I have read news reports about how so
