The pleasure of writting
The art of creative writing is at a drastic decline ever since E-mails and texting became common. While penmanship is dead all over the world, some people have taken up the newer approach to it like blogging. Writing is undoubtedly one of the most amazing art forms if not the most relevant art form any more. And the joy of it is huge.
I didn't create this blog to earn money or have an alternate profession. It was a hobby, I have always wanted to write. I have always had the skill cuz a lot of people seemed to appreciate what I write, in their own ways. In class 7th I was accused by a bully that the Hindi literature answers in my notebook were copied from a guidebook and I in no way could have written it myself, just cuz she was too jealous of it getting teacher's attention. The teacher got convinced and it made me really really mad.
The immediate inspiration came from watching 'Ugly Betty'. Just like me she had a lot of ideas, thoughts and stories to write, and when she was denied any platform to showcase them she started a blog and put her skills into it, as if it were a magazine. That inspired me to put all my funny stories, ideas and everything here. Sure it has mediocre sized audience and its just my friends and family who read it, but then they appreciate it and at times quote me back and it is a big deal. It makes me so incredibly happy and theres a great deal of satisfaction.
Ideas and inspirations come to me in waves. At the start I had too many ideas which kept bubbling out of my brain any time and hence I wrote a lot of nice stuff. Then came the slowdown cuz my brain was exhausted. Then I improvised and wrote fiction and stuff. BTW I still think 'A boy with a gift' is one of my greatest creations (if you haven't read it, its a must read). Slowdown again. A lot of ideas came up with my recent visit to my home. Wrote them all down. Slowdown again. So you see, the brain isn't always capable of coming out with new things. Sometimes you just have to sit back and let the daily life come up with one.
The execution takes time. I want my articles to be straight forward but not monotonous and robotic, it has to be interesting. Once I met a guy who was also a blogger on a flight, his blog was a small hobby just like mine but his writing quality was freakishly amazing. It felt like I was reading a professional writer. That gave me a major kick in the ass, to improve my execution. The most fun part before publishing on blogspot is looking for images on the topic on google or bing and downloading the right one for the article. The one on this article was an easy choice. Its self explanatory, and defines the title of the article.
And then I publish. That's the most amazing part. I share it on the social media sites and next day friends at my college let me know there views on it. Its generally very positive. I remember this one time recently when all my batch mates sat around me and started discussing few of the articles and talked about their favourite parts in it. I felt I was on the clouds.
My point being, right from inspiration to execution and publishing, writing feels great to me. Its an amazing hobby, super productive, full of ideas and imaginations, and it gets saved for eternity, thanks to Google. If I ever became a great man and a biopic is made on me, these articles will have a lot to say. So if anyone amongst my readers is contemplating to or not to start a blog, or a YouTube channel or anything of that sort, I will suggest you to give it a go. Theres nothing to lose!! Do it for yourself, not for viewership or money or person. It will bring great sense of calm, satisfaction and self appreciation. Give it a try!! All the Best.
